Serve as a key contributor to the Office of Strategy Management by supporting the ongoing development and execution of corporate strategy. This role plays a critical part in advancing strategic priorities across the organization through management of the strategy system, including driving prioritization efforts and promoting the enterprise-wide use of the Balanced Scorecard.

 

This position is hybrid (2x/week onsite).

NYC Salary Range - $88,190 - $95,000 annually; compensation is commensurate to geographic location.

What you'll do

  • Regardless of seniority or role, uphold UNFCU’s mission, core values, and guiding principles by providing an exceptional service experience to colleagues and members alike through consistent demonstration of our service excellence behaviors.
  • Partner with senior leadership to contribute to and enhance a best-in-class Office of Strategy Management that produces actionable, measurable, and effective strategic plans driving the growth of UNFCU.
  • Collaborate with the Office of Strategy Management to manage UNFCU’s Corporate Balanced Scorecard and the multiple cascading Balanced Scorecards at varying tiers within the organization. Balanced Scorecard management involves gathering metric data, inputting data into the Balanced Scorecard management software, analyzing data for strategic recommendations, reporting, strategy review facilitation, and the annual refresh cycle.
  • Assist in the planning and organizing of strategic planning meetings and related events.
  • Conduct structured and rigorous analyses of the external environment to generate valuable insights that position UNFCU to select the right priorities.
  • Stay current on global changes related to industry trends, the United Nations, UNFCU’s member universe, and internal factors within UNFCU. Identify patterns and themes that help the organization establish new priorities or modify existing ones. Support various teams and senior management by providing insights related to their importance and impact.
  • Draft strategic communications for internal publication across the organization, including updating the Strategy Intranet page, refreshing the Balanced Scorecard dashboard, producing annual strategy progress reports, and compiling strategy newsletters.
  • Assist in identifying and prioritizing strategic initiatives as well as gathering information on the status of ongoing strategic initiatives.
  • Provide support for strategy management activities including assisting in specialized task forces; serve as a team member as requested.
  • Conduct research as needed, producing detailed analytical reports and summaries as requested by senior management.
  • Assist in the compilation of presentations to the Board of Directors and other volunteer committees as necessary.

What we're seeking

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration/Management or related field required, plus prior experience working for a financial institution or in strategic planning
  • High degree of proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Strong research and data analysis skills
  • Familiarity with strategy management tools, frameworks and methodologies
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Proven analytical and quantitative skills
  • Strong and professional interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage relationships at all levels throughout the organization
  • Ability to multi-task, managing multiple projects concurrently
