This position is hybrid (1x/week onsite)

 

NYC Salary range: $60,770 - $67,000 annually; compensation is commensurate to geographic location.

What you'll do

  • Regardless of seniority or role, uphold UNFCU’s mission, core values, and guiding principles by providing an exceptional service experience to colleagues and members alike through consistent demonstration of our service excellence behaviors.
  • Process new mortgage applications and enter information into all related information systems, including current documentation and order all additional documents (title reports, lien searches, payoff letters, appraisals, etc.). Daily member contact and constant system updates within LOS, interaction with vendors to request documentation. Review initial mortgage application and ensure accurate data input in related information systems (i.e. LOS DU/LPA). Prepare verifications, timely alerts to the compliance team of applicable change in circumstance requiring re-disclosures as outlined by TRID, review appraisals, flood certificates, AUS underwriting findings, mortgage credit reports and title reports when applicable and update all applicable systems. Communicate with Mortgage Representatives/Loan Originators and members via verbal and written communications as scheduled.
  • Clear initial conditions on mortgage applications, make changes to loan if applicable, and update all related documentation in appropriate information systems. Make decisions following secondary and credit union guidelines.
  • Report on the stages of the application process to Mortgage Representatives/Loan Originators and Closers, management and externally using various information systems.
  • Maintain accurate HMDA data.
  • Respond to QC/Audit in a timely manner
  • Act as resource in the Mortgage Department
  • Improve on current procedures by consistently reviewing and developing best practices.
  • Participate in credit union training programs and any other functions as requested.
  • Uphold UNFCU’s compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act and anti-money laundering policies and procedures, including:
    • Maintain awareness of and report suspicious activity
    • Complete all relevant BSA reports promptly and accurately (e.g. CTRs, SARs)
    • Complete annual BSA/AML/OFAC training
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned

What we're seeking

  • High school diploma/equivalent or some college coursework completed
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in mortgage processing. 
  • Familiarity with required TRID regulations, title insurance, title reports, notes, mortgages and related documentation
  • Proficient in secondary market closing requirements and mortgage terminology/documentation
  • Full range of mortgage operations knowledge
  • Proficiency with MS Office and applicable mortgage software
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and sales/service skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to learn quickly
  • Willingness to work flexible hours as needed
