Serve as a key contributor in the implementation and ongoing maintenance of the ERM Framework to ensure alignment with the Credit Union’s strategic objectives and regulatory requirements. Support various ERM processes and programs including Governance forums, issues management, model governance, and maintaining ERM-related documentation. Provide audit and exam support as needed. Analyze key risk indicators (KRIs), risk assessment results and other relevant risk data to prepare reports and insights for the ERM Department and governance committees.

 

This position is expected to be hybrid.

 

NYC Salary Range - $88,190 - $110,280 annually; compensation is commensurate to geographic location.

What you'll do

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Support the ERM Framework and associated documentation to ensure alignment with organizational objectives and regulatory requirements.
• Assist in maintaining ERM processes, including the oversight, tracking, and documentation of models in compliance with ERM Model Risk policy and requirements.
• Manage the analysis and production of the Quality Control Analysis reports of mortgages and consumer loans, including facilitation of sample selection and review of mortgage and consumer loan files to ensure compliance with internal guidelines, secondary market, and regulatory requirements.
• Contribute to the Issues Management program by facilitating issue identification, documentation, monitoring, conducting root cause analysis, and reporting, ensuring issues are effectively managed and escalated as needed.
• Perform additional responsibilities and ad-hoc projects as required to support the ERM Department and organizational goals.
• Ensure compliance with federal and state laws and regulations and UNFCU’s Code of Ethics & Business Conduct.

 

Issue Management:


• Monitor, log, and track issues through the issue management lifecycle, from identification to closure in compliance with internal policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to implement effective remediation plans to mitigate risks, strengthen control environment and support timely resolution.
• Conduct root cause analysis across issue inventory and other data sources to identify risk trends.
• Develop dashboards and reports to enable issue oversight and facilitate escalations.

 

Data Analysis and Risk Reporting:


• Collect, analyze, and interpret risk-related data to identify trends, anomalies, and highlight areas of concern, providing actionable insights to support informed, risk-based decision-making.
• Identify areas of improvement for reporting and develop action plans accordingly.
• Develop and maintain detailed risk reports and dashboards, clearly presenting findings, insights, and suggested actions to stakeholders, including senior management and the Risk Management Committee (RMC).
• Drive consistency in measurement and methodology across reporting including UNFCU Key Risk Indicators.
• Deliver timely responses to ad-hoc requests from management for analysis and reporting, supporting proactive risk oversight and strategic decisions.

 

Collaboration and Communication:


• Collaborate with First Line of Defense on daily activities within scope of responsibility to ensure traction is being made on key activities.
• Foster and maintain strong inter-departmental relationships to support effective risk oversight and encourage a risk-aware culture across the organization.
• Assist in preparing presentations and materials for the ERM Department such as for the Risk Management Committee.
• Assist in the development of training materials to promote understanding and adherence to ERM Framework practices.
• Communicate effectively with ERM team members, cross-department members, senior management, and vendors.

 

What we're seeking

  • Bachelor’s degree or Associate’s degree with equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of experience in financial services, risk management, internal audit, compliance or a related field
  • Knowledge of data visualization and reporting tools, such as Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent platforms, to create clear and impactful dashboards and reports
  • Knowledge of RCSA, internal control frameworks and risk assessment methodologies
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret and synthesize data into actionable insights

What makes you stand out

• Experience in operational risk management is preferred
• Experience with Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) frameworks and practices is preferred

• Familiarity with issue management and risk assessment methodologies preferred
• Knowledge of ERM and risk management principles, particularly within financial services preferred
• Knowledge of risk governance frameworks and practices, including the Three Lines of Defense model, to support effective oversight and accountability preferred
