NYC Salary Range - $95,000 - $115,000 annually; compensation is commensurate to geographic location.

 

Collaborate with designated business areas to address needs, including providing counsel on, and executing activities related to, performance management, employment policies, employee engagement, compensation/rewards, recognition and employee relations.  Work collaboratively with HR colleagues and management to efficiently design, implement, administer, and deliver global talent management programs and processes, ensuring the achievement of goals, strategy and business needs.  Champion an exceptional employee experience and support a diverse and inclusive workforce. 

What you'll do

  • Regardless of seniority or role, uphold UNFCU’s mission, core values, and guiding principles by providing an exceptional service experience to colleagues and members alike through consistent demonstration of our service excellence behaviors.
  • Establish, build and maintain positive relationships across the organization.  Offer consistent support, partnership and guidance to designated business areas and HR colleagues.
  • Manage execution of performance management strategy through key processes related to performance snapshots, coaching and rewards. Support compensation philosophy and advise business areas on pay practices. Ensure alignment, pay equity, meritocracy and high quality feedback and coaching. Collaborate with business areas to design and implement plans to drive and improve performance.
  • Counsel staff and management regarding employee inquiries and ensure consistent interpretation and application of employment policy. Provide prompt and effective problem resolution with actionable solutions and conduct formal investigations when necessary. Coach management in facilitation of constructive dialogue and resolution of workplace conflict. Ensure corrective strategies help to foster trust and accountability. Mitigate risk to the organization by ensuring an amenable and progressive disciplinary action process.
  • Collaborate with HR Business Partner team to fulfill initiatives, including but not limited to the Great Place to Work® certification; employee engagement activities including biennial surveys and impact planning; executive summaries and reporting; employee pulse surveys; and updates to and introductions of manuals, guides and tools.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying trends in the employee experience to aid in tailoring our programs and services to address employee needs.
  • Collaborate with Talent Acquisition to ensure a satisfactory onboarding experience for new hires and manage transition in cooperation with hiring manager. Effectively resolve issues introduced during onboarding. Compose and update job descriptions.
  • Collaborate with Talent Development to initiate and/or support employee development plans and related activities. Participate in workforce planning with designated business areas.
  • Support designated business areas through change and with teambuilding initiatives. Be present for designated business areas by participating in departmental activities and meetings.
  • Manage offboarding process, facilitate comprehensive experience discussions and leverage insights to improve retention efforts.
  • Work with Corporate Learning team to design and deliver training programs as necessary.
  • As assigned, complete special projects; facilitate information sessions and focus groups.
  • Maintain confidentiality and ensure satisfactory record keeping by maintaining adequate documentation and filing.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state laws and regulations and UNFCU’s Code of Ethics & Business Conduct.

What we're seeking

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field of study
  • 5 years of progressive corporate Human Resources experience, with at least 1 year of experience in a business partner role or similar
  • Project management experience is a plus
  • Knowledge of employment laws, payroll and compensation practices
  • Computer proficiency, with intermediate to advanced MS Office skills
  • Working knowledge of HRIS
