United Nations Federal Credit Union is looking for eager interns to support our business operations during the summer of 2024. By joining our internship program, you will have the opportunity to work closely within your desired department, alongside colleagues who will provide you with hands-on projects, and daily tasks. You will acquire the necessary skills to development your professional competencies needed for future career success and acclimation to the corporate workforce. In addition, you will gain insight to management styles and organizational culture at the corporate level. UNFCU is dedicated to providing a well-rounded program with valuable work experiences that cultivates new talent.

The summer internship program is open to college level students. There are part time (20-25 hours/wk) and full time (40 hours/wk) positions available. Interns will work a hybrid schedule, requiring 2-3 days onsite in our Long Island City, NY headquarters.

This is a paid internship. Course credit also available upon successful completion of 10-week program.

What you'll do

  • Provides entry- to intermediate-level administrative and operational support in alignment with the functions of assigned department
  • Participates in projects and programs designed to develop professional skills and expertise while supporting the needs of the organization.
  • Receives guidance, training, and mentoring from professional personnel in planning and carrying out activities and assignments.
  • Conducts original research and prepares reports based on findings, to include recommendations or alternative proposals for action.
  • May participate in related studies or enrichment programs as appropriate to the specific objectives of the assigned department
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

What we're seeking

  • High School diploma, General Education Development (GED), or high school equivalent certificate
  • Some college coursework required
  • Previous internship experience a plus
  • Ability to multi-task and utilize multiple systems simultaneously
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Must possess a professional attitude and strong desire to learn
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
