  • Overview

    Provide financial consulting and strategic support to senior management and business leaders, including preparing financial presentations, capital expenditure analysis, industry/peer group comparisons, new business opportunities, and other projects as requested.  This function provides insights and supports optimal business decision making.

    Responsibilities

    • Manage and report monthly financial performance, including working with business units in identifying reasons for variances to budgets.
    • Assist in proactively identifying new market opportunities and risk arising from competitive, regulatory and other internal and external factors.
    • Prepare and analyze product pricing and program financials for financial products and assist in the preparation of recommendations and management presentations.
    • Assist management in the maintenance of financial activities like Funds Transfer Pricing, cost allocations and expected loss to reflect regulatory and business requirements.
    • Develop and maintain knowledge of costing methodologies and calculations including activity-based costing and transaction-driven cost allocations, productivity and capacity measurement.
    • Support other team members as required and perform other ad hoc analysis.

    Qualifications

    TYPE & AMOUNT OF EXPERIENCE:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, MIS or related field with Management Accounting exposure and 5-7 years of experience in banking, cost accounting, profitability analysis and managerial reporting

    TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:

    • Experience in financial and database software, with good computer skills and knowledge of Excel and SQL
    • Experience with database integration and a range of database platforms with strong knowledge of cataloging and archiving techniques
    • Good knowledge regarding banking/credit union business lines, products and support functions
    • Ability to manipulate large volume of data and summarize key messages for leadership
