  • Overview

    Contributes to process optimization, support analysis of current and future state processes through modeling using BPM (Business Process Management) techniques, and help define and optimize how relevant business information flows throughout the organization. Performs complex analysis to troubleshoot operational and application issues, particularly involving third party business applications that are in production. Promptly acknowledges requests from business units, performs various levels of analysis, and works with key stakeholders to determine next steps to resolve the requests. Operational activities also include the facilitation of UNFCU’s IT Change Management process, as well as the coordination of UNFCU’s internal communication of operational changes. 


    • Maintain detailed working knowledge of various business processes and applications/systems in order to provide technical and operational assistance to UNFCU staff.
    • Document current, and develop future, business process maps, utilizing BPM methods/tools that effectively communicate processes and improvement opportunities.
    • Understand “As-is” and future state business processes, help analyze gaps, and provide recommended solutions which advanced business capabilities.
    • Effectively collaborate and coordinate between IT, business areas and other entities to ensure consistent levels of detail in the business process models.
    • Provide various levels of application support to designated departments across the Credit Union.
    • Acquire the knowledge of new applications or operational processes that are targeted to specific business units and share that knowledge with the business units through documentation and cross-training.
    • Monitor, assess, create, publish, and maintain documentation for any requested changes by the business unit as well as notify all internal staff of requested changes.
    • On a limited basis, function as level 1 support resource for systems and applications administered, supported, or managed by the IT Application Support team.
    • On a limited basis, function as level 2 support resource for systems and applications administered, supported, or managed by the IT Service Desk.
    • Monitor and assist with incoming internal UNFCU requests as they pertain to the IT Application Development Team.
    • Research and implement application/system parameters, configurations, versions and query designs, data access, server maintenance and table maintenance codes; develop procedures for maintenance and support.
    • Following change management guidelines, direct and implement regularly scheduled application upgrades/updates and regular system maintenance.
    • Responsible for generating reports for management and staff from various database sources in an efficient manner.
    • Responsible for technical administration of designated systems, including configurations and user administration where required.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve operations and application issues, including file movement and processing between systems.
    • Participate in meetings with business units to clarify, understand, and define ownership of processes and systems within departments and IT.
    • Participate and conduct system testing and coordinate implementation of new or changed system parameters or release enhancements with business units.
    • Participate in assessment of business processes in order to streamline operations or maximize functionality of applications and systems.
    • Perform various quality assurance and quality control aspects as they relate to the operations and applications within UNFCU, such as identifying and documenting problems within operations and recommending solutions.
    • Develop, write, edit, review, and format printed and on-line publications. Create new, and review and edit old, procedures, reference manuals, white papers, project proposals, training materials and technical reports.
    • Provide various levels of support related to Business Continuity Planning for specific applications and business units.
    • Assist with research and analysis for response to audit and examination findings.
    • Cross-train designated personnel for back-up purposes.
    • Participate in Credit Union training and development programs.
    • Attend vendor conferences and present findings to IT department and business units.
    • Perform other duties as requested by management.



    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Management Information Systems and a minimum of 3-5 years experience in supporting different software applications and systems
    • Writing SQL commands for data extraction and analysis – minimum 1-2 years experience
    • Building mock-ups for Web applications – minimum 1-2 years experience
    • Extensive Data Mapping skills – minimum 1-2 years experience
    • Business Process Modeling skill set – minimum 1-2 years experience



    • Advanced computer skills, especially with databases and reporting
    • Understanding of Business Process Management methodology and related toolsets



    • Strong analytical ability/problem solving skills
    • Ability to work independently and within a team environment to complete assigned projects in a timely manner
    • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
    • Able to multi-task, taking on several initiatives at once



    • Standard office conditions
    • May require work on weekends or other extended hours
    • Critical system outages and system upgrades may require 24/7 coverage on short notice
