• Lead Analyst - Financial Planning & Analysis

  • Overview

    Support the FP&A team in providing analysis of UNFCU's businesses and products.  Work with finance leadership team in identifying emerging business trends and operational drivers. Independently maintain the financial management database (Axiom).  Liaise with business units, addressing their queries and assisting in developing variance explanations to budget.


    • Manage and report monthly financial performance, including working with business units in identifying reasons for variances to Budget.
    • Act as SME on UNFCU’s financial reporting software (including Axiom), with experience in data maintenance (ETL) and vendor relationship (software version support). Also, recommend process enhancements that improve overall business intelligence.
    • Provide subject matter expertise and act as first point of contact with business units for all financial queries including support in developing and tracking forecasts and identifying actions to mitigate potential business risk.
    • Develop and distribute financial models, forecasts and performance measures, and create relevant dashboards and/or reporting tools to enable functional leaders to make data driven decisions for day-to-day operations.
    • Create and report profitability analysis by business units and by members periodically and exhibit aptitude to discuss data to business units and senior management.
    • Support other FP&A team members as required and perform other ad hoc analysis.



    • Bachelor’s degree and 5-7 years of financial planning and analysis experience
    • Banking and/or financial services experience preferred



    • Good understanding of financial and banking fundamentals with knowledge of cost allocation methodologies
    • Aptitude in learning financial reporting systems; AxiomEPM knowledge is a plus
    • Proven track record of completing complex projects independently
    • Working knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite – specifically in Excel, PowerPoint and Word
