  • Overview

    Performs processing, monitoring, reporting and maintenance tasks for core banking systems, as well as back-ups, general logging, and assigned duties on an ad-hoc basis. Maintains core banking systems including support of intra-day, scheduled, and batch job streams and secure file transfers. Also, performs operational activities to support various business units within the credit union. Overall, promptly acknowledges business requests, and executes tasks in a timely fashion while ensuring processes are completed at the highest quality level.

    Responsibilities

    • Data Center Processing:

    o Perform nightly batch processing [End of Day/Close of Business] on Automic/DNA and troubleshoot all reported issues.
    o Perform scheduled and ad-hoc requests during assigned shift hours on core banking systems as required and when requested.
    o Actively monitor ATMs status health and work on keeping ATMs up-time to highest level.
    o Actively monitor core banking systems, job processing, file transmission, file archiving and interface connectivity including backups.
    o Troubleshoot and resolve operations and application issues; escalate unresolved issues for SME support in accordance with established policies and procedures.
    o Maintain at all times system changes log, issues, batch postings, and up-to-date documentation.
    o Respond to technical and business users’ questions and issues with core systems, diagnosing and resolving common software problems.
    o Review, analyze, and evaluate historical core systems operations and provide recommendations on how to improve performance.
    o Run predefined daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly jobs and processes to provide data & reports to various systems interfaces, IT departments and business units.
    o Adhere to pre-established guidelines and instructions; develop and maintain operational procedures to perform job assigned activities.
    o Perform daily batch jobs, process data file transmissions, deliver reports and notices, and label as scheduled. Troubleshoot and resolve data file transmission issues with vendors.
    o Post operations and service alerts based on network or systems incidents or business requests.
    o Create statement data files, transmit to printing vendors, and archive as per schedule.
    o Generate and maintain data files under secure distribution environment to ensure data integrity.
    o Provide highest level of service by ensuring core banking systems are up and running.
    o Cross-train designated personnel for backup-up purposes.

    • General Activities:

    o Act as an Operations technical resource for UNFCU staff.
    o Participate in training for new platforms, databases and software applications.
    o Complete and submit timely activity reports to management.

    Qualifications

    TYPE & AMOUNT OF EXPERIENCE:
    • Associate’s degree with 2-3 years of banking operations and applications support and/or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems or Management Information Systems
    • 1-2 years working knowledge of Automic or DNA core banking system from Fiserv preferred

     

    TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:
    • Working knowledge of Windows, database-oriented applications and file management
    • Computer troubleshooting skills
    • General understanding of programming languages and system architecture
    • Additional qualifications preferred but not required:

    o A+ Certification
    o Working knowledge of Microsoft Back Office Technologies
    o Project-oriented support

    • Ability to multi task and prioritize workload to solve problems quickly
    • Additional qualifications preferred but not required:

    o Familiarity with standard concepts, practices and procedures within credit union, banking and/or financial services industries

     

    WORK ENVIRONMENT/CONDITIONS:
    • Standard office conditions
    • Work coverage to be performed during 8 hour rotating shift schedule [day/night shift] Monday through Sunday
    • May require work on weekends or other extended hours
    • Critical system outages and system upgrades may require 24/7 coverage on short notice
    • Required to lift and move objects weighing up to 75 pounds

     

    In addition to any specific job requirements in connection with Bank Secrecy Act and/or OFAC (BSA), employee must (i) be aware of BSA matters commensurate with the position; (ii) report any suspicious activity to the manager or compliance department; and (iii) satisfactorily complete any required BSA training.
